The RSMUG Re-IPL! Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11.30am

We are re-IPL’ing RSMUG, and our first meeting is next Thursday, June 25th when we are honored to have, in person, COMMON Gold Metal Speaker Award winner Mike Pavlak of Zend Technologies.  Mike will be presenting two sessions beginning at 11:30am.  The first session will be PHP: Past Present and Future.  We’ll end the first session at 1:00pm, our normal finishing time.  For those who can stay, Mike will be presenting a second session on PHP and RPG Integration Examples starting around 1:30pm which will conclude at 3:00pm.  Please see below for the details of Mike’s two presentations!

Through the graciousness of EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, we’ll be holding our meeting in the EDAWN executive conference room.  EDAWN is located at 5190 Neil Road, Suite 110, Reno, NV 89502 in the US Bank Building.  Their offices are located just east of the Meadowood Mall.

This awesome training is FREE to all!  We’ll also be having a brief business meeting to discuss future meetings as well as an introduction to EDAWN for those of you who are not familiar with their great work.

And, as usual, RSMUG will be providing a light lunch, plus we’ll have our popular drawing for a $25 gift card for a lucky attendee!!

In order to plan lunch, please pre-register for our RSMUG Re-IPL event at:

PHP: Past Present and Future
PHP has turned the corner from being a “new kid on the block” to becoming a “legacy” solution. How do we battle implementing new solutions without disturbing the existing application set? In this presentation come find out how the latest PHP is simply not your father’s PHP and also where PHP is headed. Concepts like deprecation cycles, Implementing change and PHP Version 7 will be discussed.

PHP and RPG Integration Examples
In this session we will explore several examples of how PHP scripts can use the Open Source Toolkit to access RPG Business Logic. Implementation of the toolkit will be reviewed along with examples of simple RPG program calls, RPG Subprocedure calls, complex interfaces like data structures and more.
